Ultrafast dynamics in strongly correlated systems

We are developing a phase-field model for the coupled dynamics of electron and lattice systems in strongly correlated materials under ultrafast stimuli. Using poalr metal Ca3Ru2O7 as an example, it is being parameterized by electronic struture calculations of the thermal, electric and the electron-phonon coupling parameters that control optical and thermal dissipation processes. The model will be vaildated by performing experimental measurements of the electron dynamics in Ca3Ru2O7 over multipel time scales.
