Mission
The mission of the Penn State Center of Excellence in Directed Energy (CEDE) is to unite researchers and units across the university under one umbrella into one comprehensive center. The CEDE aims to provide and support critical needs and advancements in Directed Energy (DE) technology for both High Power Microwave (HPM) and High Energy Laser (HEL) systems and related technologies. By engaging in state-of-the-art basic and applied research, the Center will develop innovative solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) from low to high Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and address the vital need for highly trained students with expertise in DE topical areas.
